Microsoft Reveals Amazing Holographic Headset “HoloLens”

This is some future tech we have right here. Microsoft has announced their new product, "HoloLens", which is this headset with a screen and full GPU and CPU that uses augmented reality to create holograms you can react with. I'm not Bill Nye, so I'll let the reveal video show you how awesome this thing is. It's still in development, but I have already started a list of all the things I'm going to do with this thing. First, I am going to projects a shit ton of hologram friends on my couch so I don't have to keep playing sega genesis with my cat. Next I will go on many virtual dates with holographic ladies. Some will reject me, the rest will cheat on me with my holographic friends. I become bitter. I create a holographic bar in my living room. ...

AT&T Fails With Their iPhone 6/6Plus Launch

Well, launch day has come and gone and with it comes a plethora of pissed off AT&T customers, seething due to an apparent "glitch" in their pre-ordering system. At 3 AM Pacific time, the entire world started slapping keys and began their journey into the world of iPhone ordering. On all platforms there were constant "We're sorry" and error messages, but most people eventually got through. Apple was dead for some time before anyone was able to get through, and those with AT&T using the next program in New York were turned away from Apple.com for some reason. Those who decided to go to AT&T after the Apple NEXT snub, were in for a rude awakening. Even if they ordered by 11:50-3:45AM Eastern, they were hit with a 14-21 day delivery estimate, but soon after were pushed back to late November. I ...

Samsung Announces Their Virtual Reality Headset GEAR VR

It seems Samsung is coming out guns blazing before the Apple event on September 9th. Samsung has already announced their new smartphone line as well as their new wearable tech. Now Samsung, partnered with the folks over at Oculus Rift, have announced GEAR VR, which is a virtual reality headset that will use the new Galaxy Note 4 as a screen and just by looking at photos, it looks like a lot of fun. This will obviously not be a necessity for most galaxy note 4 buyers, but anyone who loves technology will surely be snatching up one of these things, and if I know some of you pervs you will be buying this thing as soon as you renew your porn subscriptions this year. As for me, I will be using my actual reality headset called my glasses. That raccoon looks ...

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Edge Looks Pretty Damn Awesome

Smart phones are getting smarter and smarter and I am always excited for the release of any new smartphone whether it's an iPhone or a Galaxy. At the recent Samsung event "Unpacked", folks got a look at the new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and another "premium" option of  the Note 4 called "Edge". It's certainly a different type of phone and the use of the side of the phone to create a second screen is pretty cool. I saw some mock ups of an iPhone designed like this and it looked beautiful. Not everyone will be a fan of this new design, but I like any company that tries to do something different. Check out a more in depth look at the new Galaxy Note 4 Edge at Engadget ! Man, Technology is awesome! Silicon is shooting our society straight into the future! From the ...

I’m Going to Wreck My Living Room: This Star Wars Light Saber Training Game for the Oculus Rift Looks Amazing

There have been so many great Star Wars games and there have been so many terrible ones. This light saber training game for the Oculus Rift looks like it may be the most fun if you're a Star Wars nut job like myself. I remember when I got my first giant Jar-Jar Binks Tattoo on my back, and right after the artist stopped laughing and making fun of me, we spoke about how awesome it would be for a real light saber to exist. This game seems like it might scratch the itch many of us fanatics have been feeling ever since we first chased our cat with our first replica light saber. I have heard a lot of great things about the Oculus Rift and it is on my bucket list to own one for the very life-like gaming ...

Apple to Announce New iPhone and Possible iWatch at September 9th Event

It's that time of the year again folks. Apple will be unveiling their new lineup of smart phones to the public, and the rumor mill is packed with alleged photos of the new iPhone as well as reports that Apple will be announcing their new wearable device, the "iWatch".  Once again, this is all speculation, but the only thing that is guaranteed is that people will start camping out in front of Apple stores across the globe to be the first person to get their hands on one of these shiny devices. A "reliable" source has informed the Nerddren offices that Apple will be announcing some type of  wearable device at the event. That source also told us that this device will revolutionize the way we "take in" media. Alright, I have just received word that this source is, in fact, a homeless ...

KIDNEY FOR SALE! LG Announces First 4K OLED TV With $11,700 Price Tag

Well, I guess poor people will never get to experience the crisp picture offered on LG's new 4K OLED flat screens. The more I read about these 4K televisions, the more I feel I can wait. I don't think there is enough 4K content to warrant spending my life savings ($147.87) on a television that I can't use to its full potential. Hopefully in 5 years these flat screens will drop in price so I can finally watch my Golden Girls blu rays in the crisp 4K resolution they deserve. I am admitting that I am no expert on televisions and I won't pretend to know the difference between regular LED vs. 4K LED, but judging by the drastic price difference I'll assume 4K would make Bea Arthur look even sexier. RIP you geriatric goddess.   Check out a much more astute article at ...
